About the Candidate
For more than four decades, I've built my career — and my life — on a foundation of hard work, integrity, and teamwork. Now I'm ready to put that same dedication to work for the people of Miami County.
Biography
As a proud Union Ironworker since 1979, William M Whitten has dedicated himself to building America from the ground up — serving on the Ironworkers Executive Committee for over 20 years and leading major construction projects across the region as a Project Manager, Superintendent, and General Foreman.
William is running for Miami County Commissioner because he believes local government should work as hard as the people it represents. Having spent his career in a field where safety, accountability, and precision matter every single day, he understands what it takes to get the job done right — not just talk about it. He knows how to manage complex projects, make tough decisions, and lead teams toward a shared goal, even in challenging circumstances.
His priorities are clear: strengthen infrastructure, support local jobs and economic development, ensure responsible budgeting, and make county government more transparent and efficient. William wants Miami County to be a place where working families can thrive, where small businesses can grow, and where young people have good opportunities close to home. He's not a career politician — he's a working man who believes honesty, respect, and common sense should guide every decision our county makes.
"I've spent my life helping build the framework of communities — now I want to help build a stronger, fairer future for Miami County. I'm ready to listen, ready to lead, and ready to get to work — for you."
